It took place at the Bristol Sessions known as the "Big Bang" of modern country music. Mr. Peer offered $50 to anyone who was willing to be recorded. Out of those auditions came the voices of Jimmie Rodgers, The Stonemen, The Carter Family and many more. Today, Bristol remains a city of music from Bluegrass, Country, Folk, Rock, Gospel, Celtic and more. In September, Bristol is the host of Rhythm & Roots with over 175 bands of all types coming to Bristol for a 3 day weekend of music in downtown Bristol playing all genres to thousands of tourist.
